Over the years, Madagascar has become my second homeland. I live and paint there six months a year with an ever-renewed passion for the variety of subjects, with a particular fondness for life along the coastal shores. Tropical light is at the heart of my aesthetic.

Seated in the simultaneously enclosed and open space of a terrace, the world offers itself to view and to meditation.

The white, the cold. The poles and the islands of Kerguelen, Crozet, Saint-Paul, and Amsterdam. Polar landscapes with or without a human presence.

The Atlantic Ocean, the Indian Ocean, and the Mediterranean Sea.

In the deserts of ice, on seas roamed by icebergs, proud cargo ships raise their sterns. Shipwrecks bear witness to the difficulty of the endeavor.

The geography of desire.

The otherness of animals, our companions in Earth's Noah's Ark. The immeasurable variety of shapes and colors, habitats and behaviors. A single goal: to survive and reproduce.

Still lifes, natures mortes. A pictorial genre in its own right.
